Emma Dove

Graduate Student

Emma Dove (Art History - elb7cn@virginia.edu) is a doctoral student specializing in late-medieval prayer books, gender, spirituality, and material culture under the direction of Dr. Eric Ramírez-Weaver. In 2020, Emma received a New Horizons Grant from the Medieval Academy of America and a Double Hoo Research Grant to create “Digitized Devotion,” a database comparing aspects of digitized manuscript prayer books. Emma holds a Master of Arts in Religion from Yale Divinity School and the Institute of Sacred Music and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Literature from Harvard University. She currently serves as Co-Vice Chair of the Graduate Student Committee of the International Center of Medieval Art, a Praxis Fellow at the UVA Scholars’ Lab, and a Graduate Representative for the UVA Program in Medieval Studies.
