Chris Halsted (chs.halsted@gmail.com) is a PhD Candidate in the History department. His dissertation research focuses on the early medieval Slavs of the southwest Baltic and their sociopolitical development from the perspective of intercontinental trade. His other interests include the intersection of ethnography, historiography, and witchcraft in the tenth century.
