Ryan Weathers

Ryan Weathers chose Medieval Studies because, in his own words, he knew "it was the only program that would allow him to experience the wider medieval world." Ryan writes, " I wanted to feel like I was really there. I wanted to learn how people prayed, what people loved, how they saw the world, how they counted time, how they read the sky, how they sang songs and wrote bawdy poetry. The Medieval Studies Program swept me into a world that had fascinated me for years. It gave me all that he wanted and so much more." He added, "I feel because it is both diverse and rigorous in its course material, the Medieval Studies Program helped me in developing not only an edge in the professional world but an openness in my current position as a provider of social support at a local hospitality house. Because of Medieval Studies I feel a deep connection with our guests who come from as near as Europe and as far as China. But even more than this the freedom I was afforded to pursue my true and genuine interests by all the MSP faculty has prepared me for my pursuit of even further education and enriched my life beyond measure.
